Cyber Fraud Refund: Now Get Your Money Back from Home (I4C MRM)

The Ministry of Home Affairs (I4C) has launched the Money Restoration Module (MRM) on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal. Now you can easily apply for cyber fraud refund directly from home without visiting police stations or banks repeatedly.

Who Can Apply for Cyber Fraud Refund?

• You reported the fraud immediately on 1930 or cybercrime.gov.in

• You have your 14-digit Acknowledgement Number

• The scammed amount is still frozen in the fraudster’s account

Note: Refund is not possible if the money has already been withdrawn.

Refund Categories

1. Up to ₹50,000 in one account → No FIR needed

2. Above ₹50,000 (but no single account exceeds ₹50k)

3. Above ₹50,000 in one account → FIR mandatory

How to Apply for Cyber Fraud Refund (Step-by-Step)

1. Visit → https://cybercrime.gov.in

2. Login with your mobile number (OTP)

3. Click on “Raise Refund Request”

4. Enter your 14-digit complaint number

5. Fill PAN and correct bank details

6. Submit and save your Refund Request ID

Important Tips

• Never pay any agent or middleman for help with UPI refund or cyber fraud refund.

• Apply only if the amount is still frozen.
